You may only have a few more years to get on Oprah. And while that sounds like a long time, it's not according to my respected colleague media coach Susan Harrow who wrote, "The Ultimate Guide to Getting Booked on Oprah." Oprah has renewed her contract with King World Productions until 2011 which will bring the show to its 25th anniversary. But what then? Oprah may have other things in mind given she will start OWN: the Oprah Winfrey Network, the cable channel to be launched next year on the Discovery network. "The process of getting on Oprah varies," says Harrow. "You can be asked to jump on a plane at a moment's notice or your information can sit for months or years in the Oprah files until they are ready to do a show on your topic or area of expertise." While there is not a single path to getting on Oprah there is one thing for sure. If the producers can't find you when they're ready to do a show that you could be a guest on, you won't make it on the show.
