Kicking The Superwoman Habit

As you may recall, last month I declared the ERA of the SUPERWOMAN over. The first reason I did this is to remind myself of this. I must admit that my superwoman shows up because I have so many interests and think that I can do it all. Logic says you can't, but the superwoman says "yes, I can and I will not be denied." Does this sound familiar? Do you over commit or over schedule yourself? This month I am watching myself very closely. The first step to transformation is awareness. I realize that although I'd like to commit to you all that I will radically eliminate everything from my life that feels like "over doing" it, it's not going to happen. I've spent a lifetime of over doing. I intend to look more closely at the underlying motivations of this pattern and then start to make some conscious choices. If there is something I want to do but it will take away from my self-care, I may consciously say NO or consciously say YES and notice what's underneath that didn't allow me to say no.

To tell you the truth, I'm a bit fearful of giving up my "over doing." For example, what if it means that this newsletter doesn't go out next month? That's a scary thing to feel like I'm letting you down and you might "go away." So here I am up late again typing away despite the costs. My decision, however, is to set a time limit.

This is my feminine connection time and I treasure our relationship. What I have come to realize is that being a superwoman has put in me at a crossroads because it is no longer "working." Please join me in the journey of making conscious choices for your own fulfillment. What conscious choice will you make today that will enhance your fulfillment?
